Juniper berries

Juniper berries are the small, dusky blue cones of an evergreen shrub that grows wild across Europe, North America and the Alps. They bring a crisp, piney, resinous aroma with a gently peppery bite and a faint citrus sweetness underneath. In tea they shine in herbal and spice blends, pairing well with rosehip, apple, orange peel, cinnamon and black tea. A fun note: juniper is the botanical that gives gin its signature flavor, so it adds a bright, wintry, forest-like character to any cup.
